No Longer There

British Vogue "What's your cure for heartbreak?"

Rob Ryan (Illustrator and Author) "Heartbreak and heartache are my bread and butter... It's happiness I need a cure for."

Ophelia Ford "Write a poem. Works a treat."

I looked at you
That desert night
An empty sky
A barren time.

Where stars once teased
And moonlight lay
I searched a face
No longer there.

My silent tears
They quenched a thirst
Your mouth was dry
I filled my cup.

No passion passed
Your hunger smug
You no more craved
What I then yearned.

I prayed and wished
On fabled prose
I cried in vain
You turned away.

But in my heart
My heart of hearts
I know no more
Nor less from you.

Currently a wee bit intoxicated but I think I like this one. I'll read it again after a nap. We should get coffee sometime, Miss Suprise.
