Vividly Vic.

Last week I went to a fundraiser in aid of a friend's volunteer trip to Uganda this summer. It was a brilliant evening, with friends and old classmates setting up an affair to rival any MTV Unplugged session.

The night finished up with an appearance by one of Dublin's most promising alternative rock talents, Vic. I had heard many wonderful stories about the band in the past and was more than impressed with what they had to offer.

Coming from a sold out gig in Crawdaddy the night before, the guys churned out favorites such as 'Won't Forget You' and 'Downfall' and certainly lived up to previous comparisons with the like of Snow Patrol and a younger, more soulful U2.

The band was formed in 2003 by lead singer and song writer Dan Fox, bassist Peter Wallace and drummer Rob Meredith, who were all still in school at the time. Lead guitarist Rich Margetson and multi-instrumentalist Billy Campbell later joined the group, to complete the five piece in 2005.

Check out their MySpace to get a taste of what they have released thus far, become a fan of their Facebook to keep updated on what is to come and take a peek at Vic. Online, their official website.

Currently listening to 'When It Breaks' by Vic.
