Time To Stop Daydreaming

Three weeks of college left. Followed by two weeks of exams. After which will be twelve weeks of SUMMER.

By the way, I just realized this is post number 101. How exciting! I probably should have written something far more epic to celebrate the occasion...

Peek Show

Having a bit of fun with gothic inspired accessories at the moment. I made use of a pair of tragically torn and cigarette burned Penneys tights, by layering them over a fantastic lacy pair of Falke stockings.

Cleaned out my jewellery box also and came across some forgotten gems. Excuse my drastic photography skills, one of the main reasons I don't usually do these kind of posts.

Topshop chain and ribbon necklace, H&M wooden horn pendant and H&M layered chain necklace. All worn over my trusty Topshop oversized wool sweater, which I wear far too much.

Falafel Lol

Love this ring from ASOS, but the stones are falling out... Such a fun hat too, but it never sees the light of day.

Ps. So much for red hair! It washed out after like a week.

Currently listening to 'Cocaine Blues' by Johnny Cash.

Hey You Punk

Abbey Lee's nose-ring is one of my favorite things in the world. She's pretty much like a punked up porcelain doll. Love it.

Morning Sunshine

I made a little makeshift make-up studio in a light-trap window sill in the living room of my apartment.

It's a nice bright spot and the morning breeze really perks me up when I have to paint my face before college every day.

My stuffed black cat and black sheep coin box have turned it into their ghetto. I'm not complaining.

Blog Girl Crush

I thought I'd do a post on the three female bloggers currently high up on my radar. I adore their style, aesthetic and ethos and check their blogs daily for a little dose of inspiration.

Fresh faced and freckly Karla from Karla That's Me is an absolute superstar on the rise. Her blog is a firm favorite of mine.

Brook & Lyn's Mimi wearing the DIY ripped and chained jeans and studded ankle boots I oh so covet.

Kristin from Bleach Black. I want her hair, tan and life... basically. One of my fave pics ever.

Good Vibes

Just thought I'd put it out there...

Currently Coveting

Draped and shredded loveliness in all it's finest glory. Could imagine having lots of fun floating around in it this summer.

But at $740... maybe a DIY attempt is somewhat more feasible? Raquel Allegra Solid Front Cocoon Dress. I'm not going to lie though, I can't DIY shit.

Going Gaga

I haven't been this excited in so long! My good friend and classmate Tania recently modeled in a photo shoot for U Magazine and the result can only be described as jaw-dropping.

Tania is only 19 years old and not a professional model by career, so what with this being her first and only fashion shoot to date, it is obvious that she has big things to look forward to on the horizon.

The Lady Gaga themed shoot was styled by up and coming Irish stylist Courtney Smith, photographed by student Evan Doherty and the make-up artist responsible for the spectacular look was Michelle Alison.

Summer Love

The most exciting thing about summer is the prospect of seasonal flings and romance... there's just something in the air.

Lovely Loulerie

Hidden away on Chatham Street, the powder blue facade of designer jewellery boutique Loulerie conceals one of Dublin's best kept secrets.

The window display of velvety red roses floating in bowls of water hints to passers by of the charms laying inside.

Proprietoress Louise is just as endearing as the brilliant bijou she hand selects for the intimate setting of her store.

With a number of years experience working in the fine jewellery industry in Manhattan under her belt, Louise holds a true understanding of what women want and need from their jewellery boxes.

Incorporating fine jewellery lines such as Town & Country and Me & Ro, Loulerie's current seasonal stock also features wonderful designs such as those pictured above.

The stunning gold and turquoise bracelet being a Patricia Nicolas design and the pale pink opal and gold ring coming from the Judith Haas collection. Perfect for summer, I want it all.

Before & After

Ok I'm not going to lie, I had myself all riled up for a much bigger change, but apparently you have to ease yourself into these things.

My long suffering mother and best friend both complained of dreaming about me with fiery-red hair, so they were quite content when I came home looking very much the same.

Before: This was taken after I got home from a 21st, hence the glazed eyes and extreme posing. But you get a fair idea of my naturally black hair. After: My attempt at going red. Pretty tame. Kinda lame.

Sexy Panties And Naughty Knickers

Word of mouth is one of the best ways to find out about previously unbeknown labels and brands. Consequently, I love swapping tales of new discoveries and hearing about the latest fixations doing the rounds.

A friend recently emailed me about a pretty new website she stumbled upon. It is a well known fact that no outfit is complete without the requisite underpinnings and I have discussed before how lusting over lingerie can brighten up any rainy day.

Sexy Panties and Naughty Knickers is a quaint British lingerie label which aims to create beautiful, sexy and comfortable underwear for women of all shapes and sizes. They have recently added classic silk shirts to the range, which also features nightwear.

I adore the aesthetic of the brand, which happens to be stocked in such lucrative settings as Topshop and Selfridges in the UK, as well as Barneys stateside. Some of their loyal following include Eva Longoria, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Imbruglia and Amy Winehouse.

The above three pictures give a small taste of what is on offer in their current collection, but other favorites of mine include the Flirt Soft Bra in Hot Pink, Bond Knicker in Pale Pink and Viva Nighty Knickers in Purple.

Vividly Vic.

Last week I went to a fundraiser in aid of a friend's volunteer trip to Uganda this summer. It was a brilliant evening, with friends and old classmates setting up an affair to rival any MTV Unplugged session.

The night finished up with an appearance by one of Dublin's most promising alternative rock talents, Vic. I had heard many wonderful stories about the band in the past and was more than impressed with what they had to offer.

Coming from a sold out gig in Crawdaddy the night before, the guys churned out favorites such as 'Won't Forget You' and 'Downfall' and certainly lived up to previous comparisons with the like of Snow Patrol and a younger, more soulful U2.

The band was formed in 2003 by lead singer and song writer Dan Fox, bassist Peter Wallace and drummer Rob Meredith, who were all still in school at the time. Lead guitarist Rich Margetson and multi-instrumentalist Billy Campbell later joined the group, to complete the five piece in 2005.

Check out their MySpace to get a taste of what they have released thus far, become a fan of their Facebook to keep updated on what is to come and take a peek at Vic. Online, their official website.

Get On Yer Bike

How much fun would it be to skip the traffic and pop around town on one of these beauties instead? Such a fun and chic way to go green and reduce your CO2 footprint.

BT2 always do the most eclectic collaborations and this one is of no exception. They have a good few exciting tricks up their sleeve coming soon, so keep posted to hear about them in the near future.

Ps. The Ophelia Ford Dublin Facebook Page is now up and running, check it out.

Say Cheese

I'm terrible at posing and knowing what to do with myself during photo-ops and would be known as a serial de-tagger of pictures featuring my goofy grin on Facebook, for the sole purpose of well... trying to save some face.

That's why I'm constantly fascinated at how pretty much everyone looks so amazing on street-style blogs all of the time. Take this wonderfully chic French girl for instance. The photo wouldn't be one of my favorites if she wasn't as poised as she comes across in it.

Happy Easter

Hope everyone has some fun plans involving chocolate and wine to celebrate weekend of the bunny! I know I do, must pop off now and start preparing for a friend's 21st birthday celebrations tonight.

I leave you with a perfectly Easter themed shot from the 'State of Grace' editorial by Mario Testino and Lucinda Chambers for British Vogue May 2009, featuring Natalia of course.

See the rest of the pics here.

Strawberry Blonde

I'm totally lusting over red hair at the moment. Vlada's shade is absolute perfection. She's pretty much a Russian porcelain doll though; how it would suit my olive-toned Arabic complexion is another matter.

More polka dot tights! Yet another current obsession... decisively delicious.

Dream Team

Oh my gosh, how much fun would it be to work on the same publication as these two characters? Everyone on the staff of Paper Magazine is very lucky in my book.

Julia Frakes brings to mind a modern day Alice In Wonderland. She possesses an almost magical and whimsical style, not to mention being wonderfully articulate and well poised in her journalistic craft. Her blog is a gem for super interviews with everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to the freshest new models.

Mickey Boardman immediately makes me think of Truman Capote, by far my most favorite author of all time. He speaks in the third person and refers to himself as Mr. Mickey! The blog he writes for PaperMag is full of hilarity and spark.

If I Were A Boy

I love this look. Maybe one of the nicest forms of layering I have seen before... What a stylish guy.

If I were a boy, I certainly would hope to dress like this! So chic, yet so cosy. I might just give it a shot.

Sumptuous Styling

I was struck by the immense beauty and individuality of the gorgeous model who was just featured in a shoot for Painfully Hip Design Collective.

Her platinum quiff, unique tattoos, ivory complexion and curvaceous stature suited the Film Noir themed styling perfectly.

The images made me think of a goddess-like Sophie Dahl reclining in the old ads for Opium by YSL. The hedonistic themed shots truly represent quintessential opulence.

Giovanna Battaglia

What with both illustrious poise and classic Italian beauty under her belt, L'Uomo Vogue fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia is a true style icon in her own right.

This is the only time I've seen a pair of caged gladiator sandals and actually liked them! The layering of the top, dress and gloves is just perfect.

The tailoring of the plaid pants can only be described as magnificent and the Dolce & Gabbana ensemble on the right looked no better on anyone else.

Her trademark center parted hair offsets the stunning gold earrings to perfection. (This image might just be my favorite, as it is the one that made me take notice of her elegance). The simplicity of the final outfit allows her striking beauty to shine through.

Indonesian Ink

I love all things Indonesian, mostly because my best friend is currently on Erasmus in Singapore and the photographic evidence of her Southeast Asian fun and frolics makes me envious for her time in paradise.

Hence I fell head over heels for the affordable, comfortable and stylish basics created by Carline Darjanto and Ria Sarwono under the brand name Cotton.Ink.

Pictured above is the fabulous Krey Shawl, but my personal favorite is definitely the Acid Wash Tubular Shawl. I'll post some personal pics when I get my next pay cheque and order myself one or two.

Be Still My Beating Heart

I just came across this jewellery line via Brook & Lyn and oh my, I might have just died a little inside. I want EVERYTHING. Seriously delicious stuff.

Check it all out here at Iosselliani. It is a well known fact that anything and everything Italian steals my heart and this painfully hip label is of no exception.

Hair Hum Hawing

I'm always tempted to mess around with my hair. I've never dyed it before and haven't stepped foot in a hairdressers in a long time for even a trim. Like everything else, I play it safe.

But after spotting this pic, I'd happily go right now and copycat her colour. It's so hot, I love it. I just know I'd wake up tomorrow and long for my chocolate brown locks back in place though. Bipolar much?

Rocking Rumi

I shit you not Sherlock, queen of the blogging scene Rumi is actually bringing out a line in collaboration with RVCA. She's going to whoop Erin's ass for sure!

Giggidy giggidy! On another note, how handsome is her beau? They're totally going to have super hot babies.

Give me a few posts and I'll quit cussin' and stop talking all hip hop, I promise.

Wild Child

Oh so sicko. Fucking Ace. Yum yum delish. All the terrible little phrases that have started to pepper my vocabulary are spot on in relation to Wildfox's new AW09 campaign.

The birds are wearing fake vampire teeth for chrissakes! Hot shit. To check out all of the pics click here.

It's A Man's World

Regardless of the fact that they are meant to be worn by boys only, these shoes have gotten me very excited. They're fucking ace! Don't you think?

I'm totally going to stud the shit out of anything silky I own. Studded silk loafers... Phillip Lim is a genius. From his beauty of an AW09 collection.

Apologies for the expletives in this post (or rather profanities as Heidi Montag would say).
