Be Right Back

The blog is going to be a little bit quite for the next week or so, as I am currently working with the team to set up the new American Apparel opening in Dublin on Thursday 30th July.

It's a lot of hard work setting up shop, especially because it is going to be the biggest AA in the world, but I'm having so much fun being a part of it.

I feel like taking a lot of little snoozes as depicted in the picture above; very tiring, but I will try my best to keep you guys updated on all the antics.

Gestuz

Yet another BT2 shout out! I just can't say enough about the hottest fashion emporium in Dublin, there really is nowhere else like it in the country.

Every year the store gets bigger and better and this season is of no exception; the new brands being introduced for AW09 are simply incredible and one of those brands is Gestuz.

I was blown away by every single piece and the below three images certainly don't do the stellar collection enough justice.

Sexy and tough leather dresses and motorcycle jackets, sequined and marbled silk tunics, the perfect boyfriend blazer in wool and leather, velvet and studded leggings... The list goes on.

I can only describe it as every bloggers dream. Think Bleach Black, Knight Cat and Fashion Toast and you get the idea.

I love this cute baggy t-shirt dress from Nümph at BT2. It looks so comfy and the owl print appliqué is just adorable.

Retailing at €40, it won't break the bank either. Definitely popping in to purchase it as soon as.

Manoush

During my work experience in the Brown Thomas Marketing Department I was helping prepare for the upcoming BT2 press day.

Whilst putting the press pack together, we had to photograph and Photoshop new AW09 stock and one of my favorite brands was the French label Manoush.

The above three pieces give an idea of the kitsch, heavily embellished designs. They really are something else! Every garment is unique and luxuriously crafted; the detail is truly incredible.

Manoush AW09 will be hitting the shop floor of BT2 very soon and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a piece of the collection.

Neelu's Brow Bar

I had one of those life-changing grooming experiences yesterday and even though I never really blog about beauty, I just had to share some of my excitement.

I've been letting my eyebrows grow out for a couple of weeks now and literally had to lock my pink Tweezermans away so I wouldn't be tempted to tweeze.

The reason being, I have been hearing a lot about threading and really wanted to give it a go, as I have never really been happy with the natural shape of my eyebrows.

So after work I popped along to Neelu's Brow Bar in Arnotts and after waiting a little while, (there was a que of three women ahead of me and three behind me; always a good sign), Neelu herself got to work on reshaping my eyebrows.

I was so delighted with the end result! And it is only the start, as they are quite skinny at the moment, but after a couple more threading sessions, along with more growth, they will be groomed and shaped to perfection.

I never knew a perfectly threaded pair of eyebrows could make such a difference, appearance and mood wise! Out go the Tweezermans and in comes a much better habit.

Beth Ditto For Evans

Evans have finally launched their much anticipated capsule collection designed by Beth Ditto, the original Gossip Girl.

I think the Stain Glass Prom Dress pictured above is very cute, as well as the quirky Black and White Brogue Shoes.

Available in UK sizes 14-32, it's sure to be a hit with many a fuller figured fashionista.

Oh Olivia

Poor Olivia Palermo. The girl has the world at her feet. Breathtaking good looks, amazing hair and figure, envy inducing wardrobe, model boyfriend, nice little trust fund in the bank... The list goes on. Yet despite all the good luck in every other department in her life, she is blatantly the most hated woman on reality TV.

The portrayal of her character on MTV's The City obviously does her no favors, but I'm just going to ignore the cattiness and snobbery she seems to partake in and celebrate the fact that she is one of the best dressed girls out there at the moment; I simply adore her style.

She always looks so well turned out, but never bland. She adds edge to the chicest of outfits with eclectic embellishments and a striking flourish. Regardless of her stature within New York society, she is often spotted pairing Marc Jacobs with Armani Express and YSL with Zara. She's not afraid to style up her high-end labels with a little high-street.

I really love her look. Now if only she could hire herself a proper publiscist and get on everybody's good side...

A Little Bit Lost

I had a sprawling, reflective type post written up and ended up deleting everything I had written before I pressed the 'Publish Post' button. I guess I'll keep it simple and to the point... Something I am very bad at doing.

It sucks when people steal your ideas and try to pass them off as their own. It hurts when people you admire are ill-mannered, especially when you do something to their favour. It's tiring when an industry you adore, and work so hard to be a part of, often leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

But to be entirely realistic, it's probably about time I grew a thicker skin and just got on with it.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel

As I have mentioned in the past, I always find myself drawn to pieces from diffusion lines and Sonia by Sonia Rykiel certainly tops the list of my favorite sister labels.

I just love every single piece from the AW09 collection! I have seen it first hand in BT2 and it's even more lust-worthy in the flesh.

The leopard print coat pictured below is already sold out on Net-A-Porter, but any lucky Dublin ladies as mad about it as I am, can pop into BT2 on Grafton Street where they have a couple in stock.

I think I'm going to save myself for the pink plaid and biscuit colored oversized pea coat in the top picture though, it looks good enough to eat.

Florence & The Machine

I've totally fallen out of the loop when it comes to discovering and listening to exciting new musical talent and I'm usually too lazy to take any notice of great upcoming bands touted as the next big thing.

But I eventually sat up and took notice of Florence & The Machine when their song 'Cosmic Love' was featured in the new O2 Priority Tickets ad. I haven't been this excited and in love with a new band since hearing Interpol and Sigur Rós for the first time.

I have yet to go out and purchase their debut album 'Lungs', but it is certainly on my to do list. Other than 'Cosmic Love', 'Rabbit Heart' is another single on constant repeat on YouTube.

Jimmy Choo For Irish Autism Action

I was very excited to find out about Jimmy Choo's two limited edition designs using Donegal Tweed for AW09.

Available exclusively in the Jimmy Choo store in Brown Thomas Dublin, the Breidin riding boot in brown leather and black Twillen ankle boot are classically chic.

What with 25% of net sales going to the Irish Autism Action charity, these boots aren't only timeless investments, they also contribute to a worthy cause.

Currently Coveting

I tried this leather and suede jacket on in Topshop today on my lunch break and am completely besotted.

By far the nicest leather jacket I have ever tried on. Buttery soft and so flattering... I'm in love.

€190 in store, £125 online, which converts to €140 approx, plus roughly a tenner for P&P... That's overpricing in Dublin for you.

Sickly Sweet

Just a little midweek inspiration to brighten up another dull, rainy day in Dublin.

Amber Rose totally should rock these pale blue lips to match her crazy new hairdo.

I dunno which hairstyle I like the best... Both very extreme and very cute.
