Stamp Collector

An Post recently released their latest Stamp Collection and it features six of Ireland's most prominent fashion designers; Lainey Keogh (famed for her fabulous knitwear), Orla Kiely (that infamous print), Louise Kennedy (luxurious tailoring), John Rocha (Ireland's answer to Yohji Yamamoto), Paul Costello (feminine and timeless design) and Philip Treacy (the milliner who may soon be taking Lady Gaga under his wing as an intern).

Louise Kennedy's stamp is my favorite, but it's John Rocha's stamp that I'm most excited about, because it features a picture of Julie Flynn, an Irish model and girl I worked with here in Dublin.

Lovely Leonn

Leonn Ward is a name we should all keep in mind, because we'll be seeing a lot of her in the future, that's for sure.

I worked with Leonn for nearly a year up until today, which was her last day at American Apparel in Dublin.

Leonn is leaving Dublin for London (as all the wonderful Irish people with big dreams and bright ideas usually do) to study at the London College of Fashion.

The photos above and below are a sample of her contributions to the California Select Blog; she only picked up a Canon last Christmas and she takes some of the most fabulous photos I've ever seen.

Work won't be the same without Leonn and her contagious excitement over someone talented or something new that she recently discovered.

Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture Collection

What I would do to work for Riccardo Tisci. What I would pay to see these dresses in real life.

I wouldn't even want to touch them; just look at them.

I can imagine my friend Laura, The Fashion Vulture, would pull one of these extraordinary pieces off with aplomb; she's somewhat regal and gothic, in a Tisci sort of way.

Nothing has left me in such awe in quite a long time.

Alexa & AA

Oooh I'd love to know what Alexa bought when she popped into her local American Apparel in NYC.

I met Florence Welch whilst working on the Lincoln Road store in Miami and then again, back in the Dublin store.

Don't know what I'd do if I turned around and Alexa asked me for an XS in the Lace High-Waist Brief though; that would be very exciting indeed.
